Must-have features of login/sign up page

Every app has its remarkable highlights, but have you ever wondered why every app asks for login/sign up? Do you know how important this feature is?

Some applications request it toward the starting like bank applications. Some may request it toward the end like E-Commerce.

  • Firstly this is used for the authentication of a user.
  • Welcome page for some apps.
  • By doing this you allow the apps to send you direct notifications at your mail, be it 50% sale, be it about the release of a new song of your favorite singer or be it the reminder of your credit card’s EMI.

Tips

1. Simplicity at its best

  • If you don’t want to confuse your users and make them run off the product, keep it straightforward and unsurprising. Try not to request such a large number and superfluous information.

2. Let the user explore

  • If you want the users to use your app, not someone else’s then let them be friendly with it first and explore. Once the user is comfortable then ask for the login/sign up, depending on what kind of app it is.
  • Example- If it is a bank app then obviously you will first ask for the credentials, but if it is an e-commerce or a music app you let your user explore first.

3. Asking for username

  • I think if you are not making a social media app or anything like it don’t take the pain of asking for the username and irritate the users, because if you do it will take time and maybe the user can drop the idea of using your app and end up deleting it.

Must-have Features

  1. Give access to continue with google/social media
  • People are lazy at everything they want shortcuts which should be interactive and attractive. If they see continue with google or any social media login 90% of them would use this feature.
  • Social media logins are mostly found in-game applications, which allows you to invite your friends and play with them. Example — One of the most famous and played games PUBG.

2. Authentication

  • Always ask for authentication through OTP. it can come in your email or your mobile number if you login with it. This feature ensures that the user is real and itself. no one would want a false user, or no one would want that someone else login as your user. This reduces identity theft.

3. Always give access to show password

  • Since not everyone can get it right at first, showing the password feature lets them correct the errors. Small mobile screens sometimes lead to the wrong password.
  • Also, the user can end up blocking their accounts for some time in case of banking or any authentication process.

4. keep me logged in the feature.

  • Simply ask your user. whether they want to be logged in or logged out. In this Fast track world, no one wants the pain typing password again and again especially when they are using a music app or a social media app or anything of this kind.
